Visits & Outings
The association, with the participation of the Chemineux troupe, is proposing a Beillé-Tuffé-Connerré tour to discover the traces left by contemporary conflicts (1870/71,1914/18,1939/45) in this area. This tour will alternate historical elements with songs, texts and personal accounts. We will start at Beillé cemetery (1871 graves), then Tuffé abbey (1870 anchor of the Cambronne balloon) and Place de l'Eglise (the war memorial and the plaque on the round-up of Jews). We will then stop at the church in Connerré (14/18 parish monument and stained glass window in tribute to prisoners of war from 1939/1945) to finish at the maquis at Bois de la Croix (Resistance). Tour in private cars Organised by the association Patrimoine et lavoirs en Sarthe. Registration required.
